Bible Study

This is for a Bible study that my friend Andy and I have on most Friday nights. If anyone would like to tackle some of these questions, please do.

Our questions for this week are from Genesis chapters 4-6

Chapter 4

1. 4:3-4 Cain brought an offering but Abel brought of the firstlings of his flock, does this mean Abel put more thought and effort into his offering?

2. 4:4-5 Why did God have respect unto Abel's offering and not Cains?

3. 4:7 Explain verse 7:

4. 4:8 Do you think that Abel was being proud and this only helped to kindle the flame of hatred in Cain?

5. 4:15 Why did God promise Cain revenge sevenfold?

6. 4:17 & 5:19 Were Cain's son Enoch and Jared's son Enoch two different people?

7.4:23-24 What is the point of verse 23? Who did Lamech kill? Why does Lamech get more revenge for his death than Cain?

8. 4:26 Why does the Bible mention that men began to call upon the name of the Lord after Seth begat Enos?

Chapter 5

1. 5:2 Who are they? Why did God call their name Adam?

2. 5:22-24 What does Enoch walked with God mean? Do you believe Enoch died? Why Enoch?

3. 5:29 Explain verse 29 about Noah:

Chapter 6

1. 6:2 Who are the sons of God and why are they the sons of God?

2. 6:3 Why did God say mans years shall be 120? and Why have there been people that have lived longer than that?

3. 6:6 Why would God make something he repented of?

4. 6:9 Was Noah perfect? Did Noah walk with God as Enoch did?

5. 6:17 If the point of the flood was to "destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die" What about the water dwelling creatures? Does the breath of life apply only to humans?

6. 6:21 Did Noah have to take every sort of fruit ang vegatable to preserve it?
